It is my belief that all candidates for public office and those working on behalf of my campaign have a moral obligation to observe basic principles of honesty, of decency and of fair play. I pledge that I will:

1. Conduct my candidacy in an honest, decent and fair manner. Toward that end I shall present my programs and my policies with sincerity and frankness, I shall criticise only those programs and policies of my opponent and his/her party when such criticism is merited.

2. Condemn any appeal to prejudice based on race, sex, creed, age, national orgin, disability or occupation.

3. Not use material of any sort which misrepresents, distorts, or otherwise falsifies the facts regarding my own candidacy or that of my opponent, and I condemn the use of any malicious or unfounded accusations against my opponent which aims at creating or exploiting doubts without justification, as to his/her loyalty or patriotism.

4. Immediately and publicly repudiate any support that derives from any individual or group which resorts, on behalf of my candidacy or in opposition to the candidacy of my opponent, to the methods and tactics which I condemn.

5. Support fully and uphold the right of each qualified voter to complete and equal participation in the electoral process.

6. Instruct my political party's chairman and legislative campaign committee that they are not to disseminate any campaign material on by behalf without first obtaining my written approval.
